    The Patient Care Coordinator reflects the mission, vision and values of Westchester Medical Center (WMC), adheres to the medical Staffing Network Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines. The purpose of this position is to provide collaboration with physician, nurses and other healthcare workers within WMC. The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for answering phones, ordering supplies and transcribing orders given by physicians.

    • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office with a strong aptitude of Excel
    • Understands customer service as it relates to position and delivery of care

    SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

    • Communications clearly and effectively with nurses, administration, and physicians
    • Maintains patients files
    • Prepares patient treatment charts
    • Updates patient information
    • Schedules appointments
    • Answers telephones, orders supplies and enters physician orders
    • Handles administrative duties and provides back-up support with additional functions as required
    • Must develop and foster excellent client and staff relations
    • Performs other Functions as required and trained to perform

     

    Required Experience

     

    • This position requires completion of a diploma or certificate course in the field of health information management, or medical terminology from an accredited provider and three (3) years prior experience in healthcare field, or an Associate’s Degree with concentration in healthcare, administration, or business and one (1) year related experience. Strong interpersonal communications and organizational skills are required. Candidate must be able to efficiently and accurately prioritize and multi-task. Candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
