    Genesis AEC is currently seeking qualified candidates for a full-time position as a Construction Safety Specialist to add to our team of highly skilled individuals at our Client's site.

    As a Construction Safety Specialist you will, under general supervision, assist in monitoring and coordinating site construction safety programs, including safety inspections, accident investigations, and safety orientations.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Participates in the development and implementation of safety programs such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, fire protection, and other OSHA safety compliance programs.
    • Advises on matters regarding safety protocols and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), State and local safety and environmental agencies as applicable
    • Participates in the development and implementation of the site Project Hazard Register (PHR) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) tracking and reporting.
    • Conducts routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspections of site activities.
    • Responds to emergencies and promptly investigates and prepares reports of findings and submits recommendations.
    • Analyzes observation, accident, and incident reports for trends; makes recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
    • Participates in incident investigation activities, root cause analysis, corrective action identification, and closure.
    • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

    • Participation in pre-start-up audits and assist in the development of start-up plans for equipment.
    • Development or revision procedures to meet OSHA and RAGAGEP standards.
    • Assist in the development and implementation or revision of Mechanical Integrity procedures and training programs.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
    • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
    • Competent with Microsoft Office products and other applicable database programs.
    • Must have experience in performing safety inspections and ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety standards.
    • Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
    • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
    • Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols.
    • Must be knowledgeable of federal, state, and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures.
    • Must have the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.
    • Must have experience in developing safety procedures and protocols.
    • Must have the ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
    • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
    • Relies on minimal instructions and pre-established guidelines and timetables to perform the functions of the job.

    Preferred:

    • Experience leading and managing small projects.
    • Experience participating and/or scribing PHA’s and PHA re-validations including LOPA’s, HAZOP’s, and What-If Checklist.
    • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Considerable physical activity. Requires walking, standing, climbing ladders, stairs other physical movement. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
