SUMMARY

Business Intelligence Analyst will focus on supporting reporting and analytics initiatives for the Company, coordinating cross‐departmentally with Finance, Sales, Credit, Construction, and other departments to deliver critical reporting & dashboards to data-driven growth and risk management objectives of the firm. JOB DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS

• Create, enhance & maintain existing business intelligence solutions
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish business requirements.
• Manage data life cycle through the following activities (~70%)
  • Design & create landing ETL procedures, validate source data & throughput of data
  • Tune ETLs to run efficiently & reliably
  • Design & create QC procedures to ensure front end data quality
  • Troubleshoot data issues, ensure production data processes execute successfully and resolve issues in real time
  • Drive QC resolution & needed source system enhancements by raising and documenting opportunities
  • Determine need, architect & merge new items into type 2 data dimensions
  • Integrate data into Star & Galaxy schema data models through creation or merging of SQL views, incorporate data into existing/new analysis services models. Create measures, enhance & tune existing measures.
  • Drive implementation & refinement of semantic content organization & naming conventions as needed.
  • Build dashboards through collaboration of new content design with stakeholders. Bring creative solutions & deliver intuitive, contextual formats. Enhance & follow company dashboard design standards
  • Manage access to dashboards through row level security & other measures
  • Identify other new & creative solutions not limited to above points through R, Python, new & enhanced power BI functionality & 3rd party visuals
  • Stay up-to-date with new technological updates in SQL Server & Power BI (i.e. monthly Power BI release notes) + other technologies. Educate stakeholders & drive value-adding enhancements & functionalities
• Deliver ad-hoc analyses when called upon by
  • Delivering thoughtful & contextual data extracts to answer business partner & stakeholders’ questions through SQL, cube & other means
  • Provide summary analysis in clear, concise format & address follow up questions in real time
• Collaborate with Stakeholders & VP of Business Intelligence on prioritization, design & execution

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree
• 0-5 years experience in business intelligence or related field
• Experience with Power BI or other BI visualization software
• Proficiency with SQL
• Knowledge & experience with DAX or MDX
• Knowledge & experience with Analysis Services, Integration Services or other ETL tool experience
• Proficiency with Excel

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience in Financial Services
