    Genex Systems is seeking an experienced TEMPEST Engineering Technician with United States Coast Guard (USCG) aviation experience. The selected candidate will join a growing team of engineers, technicians and subject matter experts that provide aviation C4ISR systems engineering services, technical assistance, and other services to the CG-413 Program Management Office in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:

    • Perform Communication Security (COMSEC) certifications for USCG aircraft as required by ALC TEMPEST Control Officer.
    • Serve as the Aviation TEMPEST Field Technical Authority (AFTA) in the ESB Avionics Support Cell at the USCG ALC.
    • Assist the ALC TEMPEST Control Officer in the management of the USCG Aviation TEMPEST program.
    • Perform COMSEC certifications of Government assets and all mission assets, as required. Systems to be inspected include, but are not limited to Vinson Secure Voice, Advanced Narrow Band Digital Voice Terminal (ANDVT), Secure Voice Satellite Communications, secure STE systems, secure data systems, Mode S Elementary and enhanced Surveillance, Mode 4 IFF, and Mode 5 IFF.
    • Track and maintain all COMSEC certifications and coordinate their timely inspections utilizing the USCG's electronic systems, as required.
    • Provide TEMPEST guidance for all proposed aviation related COMSEC Systems.
    • Coordinate and assist with Instrumented TEMPEST Surveys (ITS) for each new COMSEC installation or modification in each USCG Type/Model/Series aircraft.
    • All certification documentation shall be completed and submitted to the certification officer within five (5) business days after completion. All COMSEC parameters shall be within the TEMPEST certification limits.
    • Provide training to military, civilian, and contractor personnel to assist in certifying aircraft.
    • Participate in meetings and working groups with ALC and other Government agency engineering and technical personnel.
    • Provide written reports as required to present findings and results of TEMPEST testing.
    • Develop and maintain Communication Certification Maintenance Procedure Cards (MPC) for all USCG aviation platforms for addition into the depot level MPC deck.
    • Review Aircraft Configuration Control Board (ACCB) report for TEMPEST concerns.
    • Assist in the preliminary engineering, integration and installation of COMSEC projects.
    • Perform other engineering duties as required.
    • Travel as required to perform tasks.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Possess and maintain a NATO SECRET security clearance.
    • Eight (8) years experience with Communications Security Material System (CMS), Electronic Key Management System (EKMS).
    • Four (4) years experience in Simple Key Loader (SKL) procedures to include specific platform equipment builds.
    • Have at least eight (8) years experience in avionics with five (5) years minimum of aircraft communications and Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) operation and maintenance experience.
    • Ability to work in and around aircraft, including the top of wings.
    • Skilled in the use of standard and specialized tools and the equipment of the discipline.
    • Ability to utilize wiring diagrams, schematics and technical publications.
    • Eight (8) years experience performing TEMPEST fundamentals as they relate to aircraft communications.
    • Eight (8) years experience using standard and specialized tools and avionics support equipment of the discipline.
