Genex Systems is looking for Chemistry Lab Technicians (CLT) to support the Chemistry Laboratory at the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC) in McLean, VA.

Responsibilities:

• CLTs perform a variety of tasks to support ongoing research activities, including but not limited to the following:

• Maintaining the laboratory in a clean tidy and safe condition.

• Preparing samples for spectroscopic analysis such as:

• Crushing and sieving aggregates.

• Preparing standard analytical solutions.

• Preparing dispersions of various additives such as styrene butadiene polymers (SBS), polyphosphoric acid and liquid amine antistrip additives in asphalt binders

• Grinding aggregates and preparing samples for the XRD spectrometer.

Qualifications:

• Level 1(CLT-1 ) Less than three years relevant experience
• Level 2(CLT-2) At least three years of relevant experience
• Level 3(CLT-3) At least ten years of relevant experience
