    PROJECT BACKGROUND:

    THE CLIENT, a Travel Technology player founded in Asia but with customers globally, are seeking expert guidance and leadership in the further development of their business.

    THE CLIENT requires the expert support, input and participation of international and domestic travel and technology professionals to supplement existing team members in support of accelerating the evolution and growth of THE CLIENT'S business. This includes but is not limited to participation in all aspects of strategic, commercial, technological and operational execution of the business.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    REPORTING TO THE PROJECT’S MANAGING DIRECTOR, this role will be pivotal in defining and managing the Client’s execution of their Product Strategy.

    • Set the technical vision and engineering roadmap from concept to future platform; including incremental objectives to long-term goals and strategies;
    • Establish a high performing culture emphasising innovation, growth, and development;
    • Partner with cross functional-teams including Product Management to translate product vision into a deliverable roadmap and implementation program;
    • Ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for technology innovation and product roadmaps and to ensure a thoughtful and thorough capital acquisition process;
    • Lead and drive delivery, providing visibility of progress, performance and quality;
    • Ensure that all operations have developed and maintained business continuity and disaster recovery systems in the event of any business disruption caused by natural disasters, political uncertainty or any other unforeseen circumstances.
    • Effectively align teams and resources to achieve key business priorities on time and at the appropriate scope and highest quality;
    • Ensure all internal processes and external services comply with International Security, Privacy and Compliance processes, policies and regulations;
    • Develop and rollout out an enterprise-wide information security plan to ensure security of all company assets and data in cooperation and coordination with key internal and partner stakeholders;
    • Build an efficient end-to-end application infrastructure, with standard methodologies in software estimation and delivery;
    • Define and implement an effective, transparent and repeatable process for quality assurance across all areas of the organisation including product development;
    • Grow and lead a world class engineering team, developing the careers and technical capabilities of all team members;
    • Identify, validate and manage collaboration with 3rd party services and resources where required

    KEY PRIOR APPLICABLE EXPERIENCE:

    • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in information technology, software engineering and/or engineering project management, including at least 5 years in an executive level leadership position is strongly preferred.
    • Experience working in companies developing B2B and B2C travel technology solutions given preference;
    • Extensive experience with, rapid/agile development, product launches, scaling, and change management, especially within the airline and travel industry;
    • Must be a pragmatic collaborative, team-oriented leader with highly developed relationship-building skills, adept at both influencing change and consensus building. Qualified candidates must be detail-oriented, creative, intuitive, versatile and focused with an unquestioned reputation for integrity, trust and ethics;
    • Strong background and technical capability in B2B technology development as well as consumer focused offerings, particularly high volume, low value transactions;
    • Ability to influence through persuasive verbal and written communication in English.
    • Mandarin Chinese speaker with previous experience of delivery on the ground in Asia is preferred but not essential.
