    Geotechnology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking a PROJECT-LEVEL WETLAND AND STREAM RESTORATION SPECIALIST with 5 – 10 years of experience for our office in Abingdon, Maryland.

    The individual in this role will work with engineers, scientists and GIS professionals on field data collection, planning and designs associated with ecological/stream restoration and stormwater management projects, geomorphic studies, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and more. This position offers great potential for professional growth and advancement.

    RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

    • Collecting field data for stream restoration and wetland mitigation design;

    • Completing calculations and analysis for stream and wetland mitigation modeling and design;

    • Developing construction plans, specifications and estimate of probable costs;

    • Developing design reports;  

    • Conducting watershed evaluations and water quality monitoring in support of ecosystem restoration design;

    • Perform Wetland delineations, report preparation and state and federal impact permitting;

    • Complete Forest stand delineations;

    • Characterizing soil test pits, soil borings, and complete infiltration testing when needed; and,

    • Preparation of erosion and sediment control and planting plans.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, soils, ecology, or related field
    • Completion of Natural Stream Design (FGM or Rosgen courses) desirable
    • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience as noted above
    • Strong written and data evaluation skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and co-workers Highly Desired
    • Proficient with ESRI software, including ArcGIS
    • Experience with CAD design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation)
