    Job Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW 

    The SOLUTIONS ENGINEER is responsible for providing current and prospective eDiscovery clients with end-to-end technical sales consulting support over the course of the customer lifecycle – employing the GJ Technology Stack (software and hardware configuration) and Architecture Best Practices to expertly craft/scope eDiscovery solutions based on the needs of the client environment. 

    As the technical liaison between our external clients and our internal eDSM (eDiscovery Support Management), Project Management, Client Services, and Procurement Departments, the GJ Solutions Engineer is charged with fully understanding customer requirements, delivering customized technical solutions, creating thorough/standardized technical documentation, and executing timely communication to ensure the seamless delivery of client proposals and post-implementation documentation.

    The Solutions Engineer additionally serves as part of the Product & Pricing Committee at George Jon and leads the creation and documentation of all George Jon Products, known as Kits and Blocks. These Products are custom designed for each of George Jon’s Partner organizations and, as such, there is extensive interaction with George Jon various internal and external parties.

    The Solutions Engineer reports directly to the GJ Director of Business Strategy and Delivery Operations.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE...  

    • Identify and develop innovative solutions to customer requirements while managing customer expectations. 
    • Collect business and technical information from clients regarding requirements and leverage eDiscovery Subject Matter Expertise to deliver GJ specific solutions for product and service offerings 
    • Actively participate in sales calls involving complex technical requirements or multiple hardware platforms serving as the lead technical resource in the sales cycle  
    • Coordinate with internal teams for pricing, scheduling, performance, and technical requirements and externally with partners, clients, vendors, etc. 
    • Responsible for understanding all client requirements with regards to environment build-out / changes 
    • Act as a technical consult to the GJ client base in explaining product capabilities, limitations, and implementation requirements and describing technical tradeoffs and implementation alternatives while maintaining GJ best practices with regards to architecture
    • Develop, Deliver, and Present all scoping / architecture documentation for review by the Architecture Review Board, and ultimately, to the client  
    • Development of Bill of Materials / Quote in coordination with Procurement to be sent to Client Services team for delivery to the client 
    • 100% ownership for all client architecture, scoping, engineering, and communication correspondence documentation of all clients to ensure most up to date / current in Client Environment document repository (working with PMs, AMs, Engineers) 
    • Ownership of the Training / Internal Hand-off of the environment to the client and internal Technical eDSM support team to review all engineering aspects of the environment  
    • Identify areas where we can improve customer satisfaction and repeat business, then communicate those issues and possible solutions to upper management  
    • Identify requirements of prospective clients to fully understand the desired solution. 
    • Use industry knowledge and language to illustrate our solutions, supporting and empowering the existing customer sales teams
    • Develop product demonstration and prepare systems for presentation to prospects or customers. 
    • Leverage standardized documentation and GJ Best Practice scoping methods to create accurate product and services pricing proposals
    • Participate in pre-sales meetings on site or at customer locations as needed 
    • Develop calculators for GJ product and service offering standards and train the GJ sales staff / account management team in leveraging said calculators for capturing client requirements on the front end
    • Incorporate internal and external feedback and managed the quarterly roll out of product updates

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 3+ years’ experience in the technology sector relating to sales, technical pre-sales, consulting or project management experience – preferably with solutions dealing with building eDiscovery specific environments
    • 3+ years’ experience in an infrastructure engineering or comparable role
    • Prefer a background in technical architecture
    • Strong knowledge of eDiscovery in the Litigation support sector
    • Must have hands-on experience with administration or engineering of networking, systems, virtualization, storage, and disaster recovery 
    • Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and translate technical verbiage into easily understandable language for customers 
    • Knowledge and experience in cross-functional sales management methods and techniques. 
    • Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills. 
    • Skill in planning and preparing written communications 
    • Service awareness of all organization’s key services for which support is being provided 
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (25%)

      

     

    NICE-TO-HAVES  

    • Experience with NUIX, Ringtail, Relativity, Brainspace or other leading e-discovery applications 
    • Substantial experience working in enterprise-type software sales or consulting environment 
    • Implementation and training experience 
    • Enterprise infrastructure sales engineering experience 
    • Project management experience involving software implementation 
    • Strong trouble-shooting and creative problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly 
    • Ability to operate independently with a high degree of energy, enthusiasm, and flexibility
