  • Responsibilities

    Under direct supervision, responsible for processing refund checks to facilitate and complete successful, accurate and timely application of refunds.

    • Reviews refund checks and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy; researches as necessary.
    • Applies solicitated and unsolicited refund checks to corresponding claim(s) in the claims processing system.
    • Documents and completes transaction in refund check tracking system.
    • Creates and sends written correspondence using approved templates.
    • Creates and submits detailed reports, including outcome reports.

    Required Skills

    • Basic knowledge of accounting or bookkeeping principles and practices.
    • Basic skills in automated accounting or tacking systems, including the ability to efficiently enter data, and extract data and reports.
    • Ability to understand and apply moderately complex documents, and oral and written instructions.
    • Ability to compare and discern the difference between multiple sets of data or information.
    • Basic problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to perform routine analysis and solve problems using identified data and information.
    • Produces work that is accurate and complete.

    • Basic knowledge of HPSJ systems as they relate to claims.

    Required Experience

    Required

    • High school diploma or general education degree; and
    • At least one year in accounting or bookkeeping; or
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Preferred

    • Claims processing experience.
