    POSITION OVERVIEW 

    This role will be responsible for leading the ongoing delivery of an integrated strategy and plan for marketing communications in support of Penn Mutual’s corporate strategy, business plan and priorities.  The successful candidate will develop and deliver on the plans to promote, enhance, and protect Penn Mutual’s brand and reputation among industry and consumer audiences. Responsibilities include brand management, content strategy, marketing communications development, agency management and oversight of a Content Studio that supports various areas of Marketing & Communications with creative and content support.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Develop and implement an integrated marketing communications strategy to advance awareness of the Penn Mutual’s purpose, brand, and priorities internally and externally
    • Build and execute differentiated communications plans and messages targeting insurance advisers and consumers
    • Develop and maintain relationships with external resources to promote Penn Mutual’s brand identity and awareness
    • Work closely with the VP of Marketing & Communications to develop and implement annual marketing plans
    • Oversee the development and execution of Penn Mutual’s print and digital content strategies and creative developmement
    • Start up and oversee a Content Studio comprised of a team of designers, writers and external production resources
    • Research and analyze competitive positioning, target markets and key opportunities to develop strategic and tactical plans to grow the business. Work with Business Insights & Research team to identify the best targets
    • Manage the delivery of efficient media planning and buying in partnership with internal and external resources. Evaluate all channels to ensure optimal media mix
    • Identify external trends, challenges and opportunities facing Penn Mutual, and their implications for current strategies and plans. Partner with Senior Leadership to define and implements solutions to support/address
    • Lead and develop a high performing team of marketing communications professionals
    • Collaborate extensively across various areas of the Marketing & Communications Department
    • Other responsibilities may be assigned

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of 10 years leadership experience in marketing communications, including branding, content strategy and design
    • Experience in building and leading high-performing teams, both internal and external
    • Must have experience managing best-in-class creative, digital, and media agency resources
    • Financial services industry experience a plus

     

    EDUCATION/LICENSES/PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or other relevant discipline required; advanced degree a plus
