    Cambridge International Systems has a career opportunity for a Transportation and Customs Manager to lead our team in Colombia.  Qualified candidates must be US Citizens with an active Secret security clearance.

    The Transportation and Customs Manager will:

    • Oversee traffic management functions in support of USSOUTHCOM program.  
    • Ensure all importation/exportation actions are completed to ensure legal importation and exportation of all cargo (all classes of supply and cargo/equipment.
    • Manage all transportation management activities, maximizing the use of industry leading practices to pack and move material effectively and efficiently using both military and commercial transportation.
    • Oversee the compliance with the delivering carrier's claims procedures and time limitations for freight shipments.
    • Ensure that equipment and materials are cleared within 3-5 days of arrivals in customs, port or other entry point.   
    • Oversee the establishment of accounts and gain access/visibility for all necessary U.S. Government transportation In-Transit Visibility systems as required for incoming cargo and transportation systems.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • 5 yrs prior military or civilian  log experience, including trans & customs, Logistics experience shall have been obtained in the last seven years.
    • Knowledgeable in US Mil Trans & SDDC procedures and knowledgeable on commercial trans practices.
    • Knowledgeable on shipping, receiving, and documentation procedures for sensitive and HAZMAT cargo and knowledgeable on Foreign Military Sales (FMS) logistics processes. 
    • Experience with US customs procedures and documentation.
    • Shall possess the ability to coordinate customs/nationalization procedures, operate DoD In-Transit- Visibility system, SMS and track USMILGP commercial and DoD cargo shipments.
    • Level II Spanish
    • Secret Clearance

  • Qualifications

    Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and payroll systems are required.  Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail through organizing, prioritizing, time-management, high follow through skills, including strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to adapt and learn internal systems as needed. Pet industry knowledge is a plus and pet/animal interest or background is essential.
