    ROLE SUMMARY, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND REQUIREMENTSGNC is seeking a Machine Operator in our Skokie, IL facility. The role will be responsible for operating a machine that processes raw materials into high quality finished goods for customers and clients. This role will work with a team to develop products in-line with customer formulas, requirements, and specifications while maintaining that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety, and compliance with all appropriate legal and regulatory requirements. The role will also focus on GNCs emphasis for continuous improvement and offer recommendations.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Report food safety, employee safety, and quality issues to Lead or Supervisor. 

    • Follow all Georgia Nut Company policies and procedures as required including but not limited to allergens, sanitation, reporting scrap, and all general manufacturing practices (GMPs)

    • Inspect product to verify conformance with all customer formulas and specifications

    • Work to meet/exceed production efficiency standards while communicating inefficiencies

    • Start, stop, adjust, and operate machine using approved methods, notify Lead or Supervisor when repairs or adjustments are beyond the scope of his/her expertise

    • Document all production, quality, safety and sanitation reports accurately and clearly

    • Arrive in respective department on time and always clock/tag in and out 

    • Collaborate, assist, and train other team members when needed 

    • Recommend measures for continuous improvement, equipment performance, and product quality

    • Maintain 5s by keeping work area clean and organized

    • Validate transfers, consume correctly, keep accurate inventory, and run retain if/when needed

    • Must attend and abide by all required trainings

    • Perform other duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Must wear proper personal protective equipment including uniform, face mask, hair net, latex gloves, bump cap, earplugs, and safety shoes

    • Will be standing on concrete, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning for an extended period of time

    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

    • Required to work weekends during peak season and/or overtime when needed

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

    • High School Diploma or GED required 

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English required

    • Must be well organized with high attention to detail 

    • Ability to successfully prioritize workload

    • Must possesses basic reading skills, such as reading labels, formulas, and directions 

    • Knowledge of basic math including measurements, percentages, and ratios

    • Dependable and adaptable to a fast-paced work environment
