Job Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Georgia Pre-K Lead Teacher to join our team. As a lead teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children in a Georgia Pre-K program. You will play a key role in fostering a positive, nurturing, and safe classroom environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
This program runs from August-May.
**Key Responsibilities:
**
* Plan, prepare, and deliver a developmentally appropriate curriculum for 4-year-old children that aligns with Georgia’s Pre-K guidelines.
* Implement daily lesson plans, activities, and educational experiences in a fun and creative manner.
* Foster a love of learning through play-based, hands-on, and student-centered activities.
* Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all children’s learning needs.
* Implement behavior management techniques that are consistent with the Georgia Pre-K program's philosophy and best practices.
* Ensure classroom safety and well-being of all students.
* Observe and assess students’ progress and development using Georgia Pre-K required assessments and methods.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student progress, including daily observations, portfolios, and progress reports.
* Communicate with parents/guardians regarding students’ academic development, behavior, and any concerns.
* Work collaboratively with assistant teachers, staff, and the administration to enhance the learning environment.
* Maintain open and positive communication with parents and families regarding their child’s progress.
* Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-wide events as needed.
* Ensure compliance with all Georgia Pre-K regulations, standards, and guidelines.
* Adhere to all state and federal safety protocols, including health and safety practices.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
**Qualifications:
**
* Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or related field (Required).
* Valid Georgia Pre-K Lead Teacher certification (Required).
* Minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience in early childhood education, particularly in a Pre-K or preschool setting (Preferred).
* Knowledge of Georgia’s Pre-K standards and curriculum guidelines.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students.
* Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
* Passion for working with young children and fostering their growth and development.
* Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and assist children with mobility and activities as needed.
* Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, bend, and move around the classroom as necessary.
