    Georgiou are currently seeking experienced individuals for the position of Community Liaison Officer across a major civil construction project in Townsville.

    WHAT WE ARE SEEKING:

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction industry or similar.
    • Experience with Department of Transport and Main Roads Projects
    • Tertiary qualifications in Public Relations/Communications/Journalism/Marketing – or equivalent.
    • Previous public relations and community engagement experience in the construction industry.
    • Demonstrated communication and negotiation skills, including stakeholder management and collaboration.

    WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE:

    • Working closely with the Project Manager and senior project team members, to ensure local community and key stakeholders’ needs are considered throughout the project.
    • Promote a community relations culture within the team to conform to client requirements.
    • Co-ordinate/undertake communications and engagement activities including communication campaigns to support traffic changes, door-knocks, community information displays, briefings and meetings.
    • Provide strategic support to the Project Management Team on any stakeholder issues arising, including issues arising from traffic management (including property access, pedestrian access); heritage matters; landscaping/urban design matters; construction activities; and noise and vibration mitigation and management.
    • Act as the first point of contact for community members’ and other stakeholders’ enquiries/complaints.
    • Liaise directly with local residents, businesses and stakeholders to identify and investigate community concerns and issues and contribute to their effective management.
