Geo-Technology Associates (GTA) is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Design Engineer to join our growing Geostructural Group in Quakertown, PA. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated early-career engineer or a field engineer looking to transition into a design-focused role specializing in retaining walls, support of excavation systems, and engineered slopes.

You will work directly under experienced Professional Engineers and receive structured mentorship while gaining hands-on experience in real-world geostructural design.

Geotechnical Designer Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of segmental retaining walls.
• Assist in the design of support of excavation systems.
• Support engineered slope and global stability evaluations.
• Perform geotechnical analyses including lateral earth pressures, slope stability, bearing capacity, and settlement.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and construction documents.
• Develop plan details and sections using AutoCAD.
• Participate in subsurface investigations and interpret soil data for design use.
• Coordinate with contractors and project managers during construction.

Geotechnical Designer Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (required).
• Actively pursuing E.I.T. certification (required).
• Basic understanding of soil mechanics and foundation engineering.
• Exposure to retaining wall or slope stability concepts (coursework acceptable).
• Basic AutoCAD experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
