Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a highly qualified Geotechnical engineer with expertise submitting drawings to utilities and doing design for large infrastructure projects. The role is on site in Seattle
The Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for:
Provides alignment-wide geotechnical engineering support to all CMC-administered construction contracts. Manages the geotechnical instrumentation monitoring program, reviewing contractor instrument installation records, processing field monitoring data, and responding to alert and action level exceedances. Reviews contractor method statements for earthwork, ground improvement, and support of excavation activities. Provides geotechnical oversight for W350 TBM launch preparation, cross passage work, and W365 deep excavation
Coordinating with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Ensuring project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule, and cost
Planing, scheduling, and budgeting resources for projects
Reviewing and evaluates technical project documents to identify gaps, errors, or areas for improvement
Leading resolution of technical conflicts; exercising judgment and discretion to advise and recommend courses of action
Responsible for QA of design and engineering outputs for internal and external resources
Supporting other Civil Engineering and Business Activities as needed
Staying up-to-date on industry best practices and regulations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
4+ years of experience in Civil Engineering
1+ years of Experience in Project Management/ Project Engineering
Quality Control expertise
Experience in civil engineering projects
Stormwater Management and Site Development skills
Knowledge of relevant design and engineering software
Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulations
Knowledge of Project Management principles
Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
Ability to work well in a team, as well as independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to adapt and reprioritize on a day-to-day basis depending on new or existing challenges that may arise
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
