Turner Staffing Group is seeking a Geotechnician to support an active exploration drilling program at a mining project in Nevada. This role works closely with the geology team to support drilling activities, core processing, and geological data collection for both surface and underground exploration programs.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in the field and core shed while contributing directly to exploration and resource development activities.

The Geotechnician supports the geology team by assisting with core handling, sampling, logging preparation, and drill program logistics. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate geological records and ensuring drilling programs run efficiently and safely.
The position involves a combination of fieldwork, core shed responsibilities, and collaboration with geologists, drill teams, and contractors to support exploration activities.
Rock Core Management
Transport, organize, and manage drill core from drilling locations to the core facility
Cut, photograph, label, and prepare core samples for geological logging and sampling
Assist geologists with core logging preparation and sample collection
Drilling Program Support
Assist geology team in executing surface and underground drill programs
Coordinate with drill crews and vendors to support drill plan execution
Track drill progress and assist with drill site logistics as needed
Field & Geological Support
Assist with geological mapping and field data collection
Support geological surveys and exploration activities
Maintain organized drill core storage and sample tracking systems
Data & Documentation
Record and organize geological and sampling data
Assist with data entry and database management
Maintain accurate sample tracking and chain-of-custody documentation
Safety & Operational Support
Follow all safety policies and site procedures
Maintain a safe and organized working environment in both field and core shed settings
Participate in safety meetings and hazard identification
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
Ability to work outdoors in variable weather and terrain
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a field exploration team
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience working in mineral exploration or mining environments
Experience handling diamond drill core
Familiarity with sampling procedures and geological data collection
Experience supporting exploration drilling programs
Must be authorized to work in the United States without work visa sponsorship
Ability to work rotational schedules in a field-based mining environment
