    Turner Staffing Group is seeking motivated Geotechnicians / Core Technicians to support an active underground drilling and exploration program. This is a hands-on role working directly with geologists and drill teams, handling and processing drill core while contributing to critical exploration and resource development work.

    This is an excellent opportunity for both early-career candidates and experienced technicians, including students looking to gain real-world mining and exploration experience.

    Project Duration

    • Short-Term: April – September 2026 (flexible; ideal for students)
    • Long-Term: Ongoing (year-round underground drilling program)

    Schedule

    • 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off (21 days on, 21 days off)
    • Typical rotation start: Wednesday
    • 11-hour shifts during rotation
    • Fly-in/fly-out with camp accommodations provided
    • Up to $1000 travel reimbursement per rotation

    Position Overview

    As part of the geology team, the Geotechnician is responsible for the handling, processing, and sampling of diamond drill core, working in both core shed and field environments. This role plays a critical part in maintaining data quality and supporting drilling operations.

    You will work closely with geologists, drill crews, and operations teams to ensure accurate sample collection, organization, and tracking while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Transport, organize, and manage diamond drill core samples
    • Cut core using a diamond saw and prepare samples for analysis
    • Label, bag, weigh, and track samples with high accuracy
    • Assist with core logging preparation and sample organization
    • Maintain core storage systems and sample tracking records
    • Operate equipment such as pickup trucks, forklifts, tractors, and pallet jacks
    • Assist with disposal of waste core and materials
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the core shed and work areas
    • Communicate effectively with geologists, drill crews, and operations teams
    • Support safe execution of drilling and sampling programs

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
    • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 35–50 lbs repeatedly
    • Ability to work in remote, underground, and field environments
    • Comfortable working long rotations and extended shifts
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    • Must be authorized to work in the US without work visa sponsorship

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Progress toward or completion of a Geology or related degree
    • Experience with core handling, sampling, or drilling support
    • Experience in mining, exploration, or heavy industry
    • Experience operating light or mobile equipment
    • Familiarity with geological data systems (e.g., acQuire)

    Work Environment

    • Combination of core shed, underground, and surface work
    • Exposure to variable weather, underground conditions, and industrial environments
    • Physically active role requiring lifting, walking, and equipment operation
    • Camp-based living during rotations
