    Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (No weekends, holidays, or on-call duties)

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with geriatric psychiatry experience to join our dynamic healthcare team. The Geriatric Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will work alongside attending psychiatrists, medical staff, and a full interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive psychiatric care for older adults with acute and chronic mental health conditions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and manage the psychiatric care of geriatric inpatients.
    • Collaborate with psychiatrists, internal medicine physicians, psychologists, social workers, and nursing staff to ensure holistic patient care.
    • Monitor patients' progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and coordinate care for those requiring Acute Medical Management (AMM).
    • Perform physical assessments as needed, though this is rarely required.
    • Provide medication management, ensuring safe and effective pharmacological interventions.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation in compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission, and CMS standards.
    • Participate in case discussions, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

    Qualifications

    • Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification is required.
    • Must hold a valid and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Virginia.
    • Experience working in geriatric psychiatry or inpatient psychiatric settings preferred.
    • Strong ability to work within an interdisciplinary team and provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
    • Excellent communication, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills.

    Pay: $72.00 - $76.00 per hour
