  • Responsibilities

    LOCATION: Home Office, preferably in MI, NC, SC, or NH with 100% domestic travel on a daily or weekly basis 

    Our client is the North American HQ of a German-based Group designing multi-spindle machining centers that enable highly efficient and precise production of components for vehicle powertrains, mechanical engineering and precision engineering. As a system partner, they also plan complete manufacturing lines for their clients and set them up with automation perfectly tailored to specific components. They are currently seeking FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIANS in Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina and New Hampshire that will provide service and customer support during field visits in the assigned area.   

    RESPONSIBILITIES:    

    • Installation, Commissioning and Servicing of companies custom-built machines 
    • Install and demonstrate new machines in customer plants, including electrical or mechanical check-outs, set up and commissioning, tooling, operation and programming as required in the field 
    • Conduct root cause analysis and create thorough documentation 
    • Prepare and submit demonstration reports accurately and promptly as per project requirements 
    • Perform basic electrical/electronic, or mechanical, or hydraulic problem diagnosis and repair in customer's plants during warranty period 
    • Cross-train on mechanical, electrical & electronic maintenance 
    • Advise and assist customers with most operations and programming problems during warranty period 
    • Perform most maintenance work and provide basic assistance needed by customer following warranty period 
    • Upgrade personal capability and train customer personnel
    • Assist other Field Service Engineer/Technicians with various assignments to receive necessary on-the-job training 
    • Attend schools, seminars, and conferences to stay current with up-and-coming technology related to CNC Machine service and installation  
    • Train customer personnel in processing, tooling, operating, and servicing of client's Machine products 
    • On-call time is an essential function of this position 
    • All other duties assigned

     

    REQUIREMENTS:   

    • 5+ years of experience setting up four and five axis CNC machining centers for prismatic machining 
    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited University  
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, prioritizing them appropriately  
    • Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook proficient  
    • Good organizational skills and detail orientation  
    • German language skills would be beneficial
