    The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S., Inc. (GACC South) is a private, non-profit organization which serves as the official representative of German industry and trade in the Southern United States. Our mission is to promote and support bilateral trade between Germany and the US.

    We are a young and fun team and our office is in a hip neighborhood with plenty of free parking. We are close to GA Tech and Georgia State. We have quite a few team outings (see our social media posts) and organize over 70 events a year with interesting speakers. Our interns are welcome to participate in those. And you don't have to worry about having to make coffee: we share common office/kitchen duties by rotating through all employees including our CEO.

    We are seeking a highly motivated intern to assist with marketing either full-time or part-time. For this internship a creative spirit is required.

    YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Event planning, implementation, and post event follow-up (incl. communication with service providers, venue, catering, hotel; event promotion; event registration)
    • Coordinate & organize member-related events
    • Assist in many different aspects of organizing GACC South events
    • Other administrative responsibilities relevant to event coordination

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE U.S. (NO VISA SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE)
    • Completed degrees are NOT required to apply, and we will accept applicants with majors, minors or a strong background in- economics, marketing, event management or related fields
    • Excellent spoken and written English
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Ability to work independently while also integrating with our team
    • Problem solving skills and an eye for details are a must
    • Creative spirit
    • Willingness to work beyond regular office hours occasionally
    • Highly organized, comfortable with managing multiple projects
    • Quick to adapt and learn new tasks and projects
    • Confidence and a “can-do” attitude
    • Dependability

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Previous event management experience is a plus

    START DATE: ASAP (August 2019) or January 2020 (Duration of internship: 6 months with the potential to extend to up to 1 year) LOCATION: Atlanta, GA, USA COMPENSATION: $10/hour, 20- 40 hours per week, for full-time internships we offer paid time off (vacation, personal day, sick time)
