CONSULTING SERVICES INTERNSHIP
COMPANY: German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S., Inc.
LOCATION: Atlanta, GA, USA
START DATE: August 2019 or January 2020 (Duration: 12 months preferred)
NUMBER OF INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE: 2
COMPENSATION: $10/hour, 40 hours per week, paid time off (vacation, personal day, sick time)
OWN EXPENSES FOR INTERN: Health insurance, housing, travel expenses, J1-Visa fee (if applicable)

The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S., Inc. (GACC South) is a private, non-profit organization which serves as the official representative of German industry and trade in the Southern United States. Our main mission is to promote and support bilateral trade between Germany and the U.S.
We are seeking a highly motivated, full-time intern to gain hands-on experience using her/his business education in real-world applications. As an intern, you will participate in teamwork, direct client communications and day-to-day operations of the office.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will work closely with current staff and managers of the Consulting Department to support ongoing projects, including federally funded projects aimed at supporting German small and medium sized companies in various key industries such as the Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency, Machinery Manufacturing and Medical sectors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your training opportunities will include but are not limited to:
Supporting mid-sized German companies with their U.S. market entry
Working closely with the management of our German business clients
Conducting industry specific market research
Performing cold-calling associated with business partner searches
Organizing trade shows & business trips including onsite support for German companies
Planning, implementation, and post follow-up of inbound and outbound delegations, conferences and roundtables, including acquisition of experts, VIPs, participants, and onsite support for German participants
Contributing directly to the development and expansion of the market position of our Consulting Services team
Assisting and coordinating marketing activities internally and with external vendors
Other administrative responsibilities relevant to project management and event management
