    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    Geronimo is seeking an experienced Developer to lead the development's team into a new market. The Developer will be directly responsible for the business and project development activities of the company's pipeline of projects within the market.

    DUTIES

    • Identify the market opportunities for developing utility scale solar, utility scale wind and distributed generation
    • Lead and be responsible for the roll out of a utility scale projects and/or distributed generation portfolio for the company; become the internal market expert
    • Work closely with the commercial team on identifying commercial off-take opportunities
    • Review and engage in policy and regulatory working groups and work to identify new market solutions as issues arise
    • Follow tariff rate structures and market changes
    • Manage interconnection process and applications
    • Manage a remote team, including land acquisition and consultants
    • Research local land use ordinances for applicability to solar development
    • Meet and coordinate with local jurisdictions, agencies and organizations about project development
    • Lead and manage community outreach
    • Work closely with the permitting team on obtaining entitlements (land use permits, environmental permits) for each project
    • Represent the company and project at public hearings
    • Create and manage project budget. Coordinate with the finance and construction team to ensure project viability.
    • Utilize Excel, Google Earth, and other Microsoft Office software tools
    • Travel up to 35% of the time

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 3 years of project development experience (energy, real estate, housing development, etc.)

    • Knowledge base of energy markets preferred

    • Proven leadership capabilities

    • College Degree

    • Preferred areas of study include land-use planning, economics, environmental policy/science, or business.
