    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    Geronimo is seeking a Solar Development Intern to assist in the management and support of Xcel Energy's Solar*Rewards Community Program. The intern will be responsible for knowledge of the program and for keeping projects progressing through the SRC program with Xcel Energy. This role is intended to be a part-time internship through the school year. 

    DUTIES 

    • Work closely with Distributed Generation Solar Development team on various items needed to develop the Community Solar portfolio.
    • Manage and operate Salesforce platform for the projects.
    • Assist with project site screening with Google Earth, ArcGIS, PVWatts, SGHAT and other tools.
    • Generate outreach mailings and presentations.
    • Attending occasional evening meetings and public hearings.
    • Research utility and electric markets and tariff books for new territory expansion.
    • Research interconnection queues.
    • Research state regulatory proceedings and keep up to date with Public Utilities Commission dockets.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Education:

      • Current undergraduate or master's degree student at a local college or university.
      • Preferred areas of study include economics, environmental policy/science, or business.
    • Interests/Attributes:

      • Interest in Solar policy (state and federal), Energy Markets, Environmental permitting
      • Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

    COMPENSATION       

    $15 per hour, 20+ hours per week (hours and time are flexible)
