We are currently seeking an energetic, independent, intrinsically-motivated Software Data Analyst who is an excellent problem solver and critical thinker.This is a 100% remote position, though we’d love it if you were located in the Maryland area.Ideal Candidate:As one of our first technology hires, you will not only help to shape the direction of our technology stack, products, and services; but also our business. You should possess the acumen to make sound design decisions around architecture, scope, and approach based on a very fast-moving, ever-evolving, environment that demands constant flexibility and the ability to balance business and technology needs.You will lead the charge on SQL Server-based data analytics and business intelligence (BI). You should be intimately familiar with SQL Server -- including best practices -- as well as BI tools; most prominently Microsoft Power BI.Your Responsibilities:Run with complex, SQL Server-driven data export needs and the resulting presentation/visualization of the dataImplement Power BI apps to meet recurring business intelligence needs, most often via an embedded Power BI solution in our web application.Translate high-level business data needs into technical requirements by way of dialogue with stakeholders & business leadersDeliver high-quality products through good design and quality practicesRequirements5 years of experience with SQL Server, including: Schema creation & management, querying and query tuning, and a focus on data quality & integrity 3 years of experience with Microsoft Power BI developmentExperience using Git version controlLifecycle best practices, including source control, testing, validation, maintainability, code reuse, etc.Experience in the following Microsoft technologies is a significant “plus:” C# and ASP.NET, Azure (SaaS models)Work well both independently and in a team/paired programming settingAbility to work with C-level members of the organization to understand business needsDesign and deliver solutions quickly and efficientlyStrong work ethic, proactive at identifying and resolving issues, self-motivated, and resourcefulThe ability to diagnose and solve complex problems across a variety of user-facing platformsExcellent communication skills with the ability to foster understanding and cooperation across technical and non-technical teamsYou are not just taking a job, but you have a deep profound belief in self improvementsYou are a self-starter that likes to be part of innovative mission-driven environmentsYou’re intellectually curious and are always striving for improving outcomes
