Part-Time / Contract Criminal Defense Attorney The Ghanouni Teen & Young Adult Defense Firm, located in Woodstock, is seeking a part-time / contract lawyer that is eager to handle criminal and juvenile defense cases, ranging from traffic violations to felonies. This includes representing clients throughout the litigation process, including negotiations, pre-trial motions, trials, and pleas, as well as the occasional appeal. Juvenile delinquency experience and school tribunal experience are preferred, but not required. Most of our cases are in Cherokee and Cobb counties, as well as some of the other surrounding counties. The lawyer in this position will focus on helping clients achieve their goals, by providing representation throughout the legal process as well as advice on how the matter will appear on their official Georgia criminal history, and the potential options to have that information restricted. Lawyers considering the position should also be aware that many of the clients prefer the certainty of a negotiated resolution over the uncertainty of litigation, which can lend itself to a greater amount of pre-trial resolutions to matters. With many of the clients being younger individuals, there is frequently family involved in the matter who will also have questions and want to understand the process. Ensuring their understanding is also part of the lawyer’s responsibilities. This is a GREAT opportunity for someone who is seeking greater flexibility in their work schedule to achieve work-life balance and choice in their career. In this role, you can achieve more freedom and choice, while focusing on your passion for client-centered work. There are many benefits to candidates interested in this position, aside from the rewarding work of partnering with people to help them create a personalized defense strategy that eliminates or mitigates their charges and protects their bright future.
