    ENGINEERING INTERN

    CAMPBELL, CA

Are you ready to feel the impact of your craft and help us revolutionize the world of robotics?

At Giant.AI, we are focused on finding solutions to one of the greatest global challenges to the next few generations. We are a growing team, led by some of the industries' best scientists and engineers who share a deep passion and expertise in Robotics, Deep Learning and Computer Vision. We are backed by some of the top VC's, including Gates Frontier (Bill Gates' investment fund) and Khosla Ventures with real world customers who are excited about our technologies.

ROBOTICS ON A PLANETARY SCALE IS NOT JUST OUR TAGLINE BUT OUR NORTH STAR TO WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO.

Our Co-Founders: Founder, CEO Dr. Adrian Kaehler has a long history of innovation: he has been an inventor on many patents, as well as the author of numerous technical papers and articles in a variety of subjects ranging from particle physics to biometrics to architecture to robotics. He has led projects in a wide variety of technical domains including commercial, industrial, and military and ranging in scope from boutique to global scale mass production, on land, in the air, in space, and under the oceans.

Co-Founder Dr. Chris Cianci holds undergraduate degrees in Physics (Occidental College, 2001) and Electrical Engineering (Caltech, 2003), and completed his doctorate on Distributed Robotics at L'Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne in Switzerland (2009). He has done extensive work in robotic autonomy, ranging from autonomous vehicles to one of the first consumer autonomous home vacuum cleaners, shipping millions of units worldwide. When forced to drive himself (because the self-driving cars aren't quite ready yet), he can often be found traveling in a 1974 MGB that he is in the process of restoring himself.

Why we are looking for someone like you:

We are seeking junior, senior, master's or doctorate computer science/software engineering students with an interest in robotics and machine learning. Giant.AI is committed to developing young professionals by providing opportunities to explore the dynamic environment of robotics. These positions actively support current projects and are constantly evolving. Giant.AI strives to provide the student with:

    • Real world experience at a robotics company with the latest technology
    • Guidance from an assigned mentor
    • A positive, team approach work environment
    • Hands on experience with complex physical systems

    What You'll Do:

    •  As needs are constantly evolving, shortly before the beginning of the internship period, a specific primary project (of appropriate scale) will be identified and scoped in coordination between the mentor and the intern.
    • Secondarily, there will be ample opportunities to participate with and learn from the rest of the team on day-to-day activities such as robot repair, experiment design, data collection, tooling, and automation.

    Your Knowledge and Expertise:

    • Strong background in engineering coursework (CS or EE; supplemental exposure to ME a plus, but we unfortunately do not currently have the balance of resources to provide as high-quality of an experience for students specializing exclusively in ME).
    • Strong programming skills (python/c/c++)
    • Strong desire to take ownership of a project, and see it to completion in the time allotted
    • Any prior experience with robotics is a strong plus
    • Any prior experience with machine learning (especially reinforcement learning) is a plus

We are a global company. Our corporate headquarters is in Campbell, CA. We also have offices in Burbank, CA, and internationally.

Giant, AI is an equal opportunity employer - we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
