ASSOCIATE PRODUCT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Gilson Company, Inc., is a manufacturer and distributor of construction materials testing equipment headquartered in Lewis Center, Ohio. Gilson entered the mining and highway construction testing equipment field with the introduction of the Testing Screen in 1939. Since then, Gilson has grown to offer an extensive range of materials testing equipment used in the construction materials, mining, food and pharmaceutical industries.

Gilson is looking for a “Technical Support Specialist” that has an understanding of construction materials testing equipment as well as the performance of a wide range of soils/geotechnical, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt related tests. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and a customer focused approach to business. The role of ‘Technical Support Specialist” is multifaceted and requires the ability to think technically while also making business minded decisions.

On a day-to-day basis, a Technical Support Specialist can expect to:

• Interact with customers over the phone and via email.
• Understand and continue to learn ASTM and AASHTO standards.
• Make product recommendations, based on customer’s needs.
• Communicate daily with vendors, dealers and distributors.
• Give input regarding product offerings and performance.
• Prepare for and attend industry related tradeshows and technical meetings.

Minimum Requirements; Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree in geology, civil engineering, mining or construction science or a minimum of 3 years of experience performing construction materials testing. Also, knowledge and understanding of ASTM and AASHTO standards, experience operating, maintaining, and calibrating testing equipment, understanding of general quality assurance and quality control practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer skills. Some travel is required.
