    POSITION SUMMARY :

    Girl Scout Experience Coordinator is responsible for implementing the tactical plans of council programming. They will design and implement a clear leadership pathway encouraging retention. The Girl Scout Experience Coordinator will plan and implement program opportunities across the council, create resources, and promote and oversee the Gold Award process including working with the Gold Award Committee. As a member of the Girl Scout Experience team, they will support the work of other staff to provide a full Girl Scout Leadership Experience through all four program pillars (STEAM, Outdoors, Life Skills, and Entrepreneur Skills). At all times they will portray a positive image that is representative of policies, procedures, and promotes customer service to internal/external stakeholders.

    ** MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES** :

    • Recruits, provides guidance to and recognizes support volunteers, with a focus on the Gold Award Committee and Mentors enabling them to best serve Girl Scouts in their Gold Award Journey.
    • Provide training for the Gold Award, interpreting GSUSA standards and using council specific resources, such as: Gold Award micro trainings, award rubrics, and other materials intended for volunteer and youth member use.
    • Promotes Girl Scout leadership award progression for all members both adult and youth.
    • Creates varied experiences based on Girl Scout input and available opportunities, while encouraging real-life leadership skill development. These include but are not limited to; global, historical and wellness experiences for all levels.
    • Delivers programs at all levels of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
    • Keeps abreast of trends and issues affecting girls as well as keeps current with GSUSA initiatives.
    • Supports and promotes all aspects of Girl Scouting by serving as a spokesperson for the Movement.
    • Embrace and enhance a culture that values diversity and ensures that staff, girl and volunteer efforts reflect the council’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
    • Carry out other duties as assigned.

    • Ability to work with a diverse group of staff, volunteers, youth, and experience partners.
    • Ability to develop and implement program budget.
    • Ability to track and monitor grant expenses.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.

    EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE :

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education or Youth leadership, or equivalent work experience.
    • Experience working with youth and volunteers.
    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS and PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

    • Become a registered member and maintain membership in GSUSA.
    • Ability to maintain flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and occasional overnight settings.
    • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects 20 lbs.
    • Sit or stand for long periods of time.
    • Ability to maneuver in an event setting including setup, facilitation and cleanup.
    • Active participation in Product Sales initiatives.
    • Represent GSOFCT in professional Girl Scout attire as required during programs/events
    • Statewide travel required.
    • Must have valid Connecticut driver’s license.
    • Must carry and show proof of liability coverage of personal vehicle.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT :

    • Work in office environment with routine periods of time in the community (indoor/outdoor) settings including GSOFCT camp properties.
    • Evening and weekend meetings and programs virtually and in person.
