    This Director of Community Development Programs will serve to guide the direction of the council’s community outreach strategy and all grant initiatives. The position is responsible for maintaining existing partnerships and aggressively seeking new community partnerships in order to enhance the impact of the council’s Outreach department. This position is unique in that it will have a direct impact on the at-risk communities and girls through a mentorship program and establishing a Girl Scouts presence in the community.

    In addition, this position is responsible for:

    · Plans, designs, markets, and implements innovative programs and strategies to reach underserved or emerging populations to extend Girl Scout reach and growth

    · Builds collaborative relationships with community organizations, schools, agencies and businesses

    · Together with the Chief Operations and Development Officer, identifies opportunities and serves as a GSGC liaison

    · Researches current trends, research and community priorities relating to the healthy development of girls

    · Identifies areas of opportunities to grow or enhance the impact of the Outreach department

    · Provides leadership to Outreach department. Ensures all part-time outreach staff are properly trained and integrated as members of the GSGC team

    · Designs, implements and delivers the Girl Scout Leadership Experience for girls in identified underserved populations and / or in specific program initiatives through a variety of program pathways, including aligning with the Girl Experience department

    · Assists with site visits to Community Program sites ensuring quality and consistency with the Girl Scout messaging and brand

    · Attends community events as requested and makes presentations to community groups on behalf of GSGC

    · Oversees and administers grants and designated funds for outreach and/or target program

    · Implementation

    · Ensures membership goals and all established outcomes are met within the areas of Community

    Development

    · Conducts program evaluations; develops and maintains a quantifiable evaluation process and measures, and reports regarding achievement of outcomes

    · Works with fund development department to maintain a grants calendar to ensure timeliness of grant proposal development and submission

    · Collects, analyzes, and interprets outcomes and other data related to funding reports. Writes or

    · contributes to grant and other funding reports as required by funding partners

    · Oversees and supports Product Sale Program for girls in community-based programs

    · Supports all fund-raising initiatives by producing and/or editing effective communications materials

    · Works closely with all Gateway Council departments to advance departmental and organizational goals

    · Ensures internal and external branding quality and consistency with GSUSA

    Desired skills and experience:

    · Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field, or combination of degree and 5+ years in non-profit organizations with previous experience with serving youth. Master’s Degree preferred

    · 5+ years’ experience in program development, grant implementation and evaluation in a not for profit environment

    · Proven track record of success in senior leadership roles in mission focused operations management

    · Knowledge and acceptance of beliefs and principles of the Girl Scout movement; willing to register as a member of Girl Scouts of the USA

    · Valid Florida driver’s license, vehicle in working condition, proof of insurance, or the ability to fulfill timely and extensive travel requirements across widespread regional geography

    · Availability to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends

    · Ability to clear a Florida Department Law Enforcement Level 2 Background screening
