    TITLE: Membership Manager

    Reports to: Chief Membership and Strategy Officer

    Classification/FLSA Status: Regular, Full Time, Exempt

    LOCATION: Hybrid

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Membership Manager is responsible for all new member recruitment, membership conversion, and retention of membership within an assigned community/ service unit (geographic area). This position will serve as the primary point of contact for the Volunteer Community Leadership Team, creating positive relationships with volunteers leading to the success of the Girl Scout experience within their area.

    The Membership Manager serves as the expert within their geographical location and will network on behalf of Girl Scouts of Gateway Council increasing awareness, enhancing the brand and increasing participation and support of Girl Scouts. The Membership Manager works collaboratively with other members of council staff to achieve the council's strategic plan and KPIs.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Responsible for all recruitment and retention efforts for girl and adult membership for a specific geographical area in Gateway Council.

    2. Continuously assess the current membership state and identifies opportunities for growth across assigned geographical area. Understands membership analytics and uses it to develop recruitment plans in each geographical area year to year.

    3. Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships including but not limited to local schools/educators, faith-based organizations, community leaders, parent organizations, businesses, and community organizations to support the growth of GSGC.

    4. Serve as an advocate and ambassador for each community, helping to identify volunteers to fill key positions, provide mentorship through the volunteer lifecycle and assist in conflict resolution between volunteers or volunteers and caregivers. Partners with Placement Specialist/Lead to move girl and adult membership through the pipeline and into troops and roles.

    5. Partner with each community's volunteer leadership team to increase engagement and support across the council and strengthen the overall membership experience.

    6. Executes GSUSA recruitment and lead generation campaigns, tracks performance of campaigns, and collaborates cross-functionally to increase the brand and reputation awareness with robust marketing campaigns.

    7. Partners across membership, girl experience and product departments to ensure they have all knowledge needed to perform their jobs at a high level through various seasons in the membership year.

    8. Exemplifies high levels of motivation, performance dedication and commitment internally and externally that heightens the GS brand and reputation in the community served.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    · 3+ years of previous experience in Girl Scouts (volunteer or staff)

    · Proficient in Salesforce, Looker, and Litmos software platforms

    · Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Power Point, Word, and Excel.

    · Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

    · Travel throughout council jurisdiction up to 20% of the time.

    · Capability to provide own transportation and maintain valid operator license.

    Education and Experience:

    · Bachelor’s or higher or equivalent experience with four years of directly related work experience, and at least two years of managerial experience.

    · Prior experience in volunteer management, training development, and/or event planning.

    · Strong collaborative skills with demonstrated experience partnering with different departments and the ability to coach and develop high-performance teams.

    1. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    2. Operate office equipment manually.

    3. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds at times.
