    POSITION SUMMARY

    THIS POSITION IS LOCATED BETWEEN BAKER, NASSAU AND DUVAL COUNTIES.

    The Membership Development Champion is a part-time position that reports directly to and supports the efforts of the Membership Development Manager within their territory. The position will be responsible for helping to recruit new girls, new adult memberships, identify and partner with territories volunteers. Working within the community to help build visibility for Girl Scouts, promote the experience, and will fully understand the territories geographical and demographical needs and interests to best support membership growth. The position also works in partnership with other operational and organizational functions such as each community’s Brand Ambassador within the territory to better support the organizational mission, goals and strategic priorities.  Girl Scouts is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls in kindergarten through twelfth grade, and our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Increase awareness to positively impact membership growth by engaging in the community, working with schools, school districts, faith-based institutions, businesses, etc. and cultivate community contacts to educate on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and generates leads resulting in membership growth.
    • Implement effective recruitment strategies for girl and adult membership growth in targeted areas to meet goals and objectives relevant to designated geographic areas.
    • Meet individual and community team membership goals and promote the Girl Scout mission by hosting recruitment events in designated areas: including in-person meetings, back to school and troop sign up events, community gatherings and presentations.
    • Work with and support volunteer recruiters in assigned area to ensure coordinated recruitment efforts, consistent approach, and messaging from volunteers on the Girl Scout mission.
    • Identify marketing, advertising, and public relations opportunities that will effectively and efficiently promote the Girl Scout brand and enhance recruitment efforts.
    • Responsible for all activities related to the entry and maintenance of council records pertaining to Girl Scout membership registration from events through all steps of the registration and placement process.
    • Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scouts message of pluralism and diversity to members of the council.
    • Interprets the Girl Scout Leadership Experience philosophy and the Council’s policies, procedures and standards.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications and/or Marketing preferred, but not required.
    • Minimum 1+ years of sales, marketing, communications, or public relations experience required.
    • Excellent communication skills; clear and effective written and verbal communicator in and around large audiences.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Knowledge and acceptance of beliefs and principles of the Girl Scout movement; willing to register as a member of Girl Scouts of the USA.
    • Availability to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
    • Ability to clear a Florida Department Law Enforcement Level 2 Background screening.
    • Potential candidates should be comfortable traveling throughout the designated areas on a regular basis.
    • Part-time position with approximately 20 hours a week and additional hours during peak recruitment months of August – Nov and Feb – May.
    • Valid Florida driver’s license, vehicle in operating condition, satisfactory driving record with proof of insurance to travel within assigned geographic area.
    • Ability to clear a Florida Department of Law Enforcement Level 2 Background screening.
