The Glazier Apprentice supports experienced Glass Installation Technicians in the installation, repair, and replacement of residential and commercial glass products, including windows, doors, mirrors, and shower enclosures. This is a hands-on, entry-level position designed for individuals interested in developing a long-term career in the skilled trades. Comprehensive training is provided for motivated candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Work Schedule & Location: This role is onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM in Wichita, KS.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support
Assist Lead Technicians with measuring, cutting, and installing glass according to specifications
Support the repair and replacement of damaged glass in residential and commercial settings
Aid in the installation of mirrors, shower doors, and specialty glass products
Apply caulking, sealants, and glazing compounds as directed
Safely load, unload, and transport glass and materials to job sites
Job Site Operations
Prepare and maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments
Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision
Adhere to all safety standards, PPE requirements, and OSHA regulations
Assist with inventory control, material handling, and vehicle restocking
Communicate professionally with customers and team members on-site
Accurately complete daily work orders, time logs, and required documentation
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs on a regular basis
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching
Comfortable working at heights (ladders, scaffolding, lifts)
Dependable, punctual, and able to follow direction effectively
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Basic math skills, including measurements and simple calculations
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in construction, carpentry, or a related trade (not required)
Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
Customer service or client-facing experience
Ability and willingness to learn basic blueprint/shop drawing readings
Experience loading/unloading materials and maintaining organized work vehicles and job sites
