Job Summary

We are seeking a Glazier / Glass Installer to join our team committed to providing top quality customer service, and workmanship. As a glass and storefront services provider, Capitol Glass, believes in balancing work with the realities of life. We consistently provide quality glass services and ensure the safety of customers. Capitol Glass has been servicing the Central Connecticut Region for over 50 years with one centralized location in West Hartford, CT.

This is a great opportunity for CT Licensed Glaziers or people with excellent problem solving skills and prior construction or remodeling experience looking to shift into a new career in the glass and storefront field. Attention to detail, accurate measuring, and knowledge of entrance hardware and building enclosure systems are highly valued skills. Ideal candidates should have a minimum of five years in the constructions trades and at least two years working with residential or commercial flat glass. Candidates must be comfortable working with and installing flat glass, lift at least 75 pounds, and installing and servicing various storefront and glass/glazing systems. Interior and exterior storefront framing systems include; aluminum framed storefronts and entrance doors, all glass (frameless) office fronts and full glass doors.

Successful candidates must have a clean driving record, and must be able to pass a criminal background investigation. Capitol Glass Co., Inc. often works in sensitive locations including; Healthcare Facilities, Education / Schools, Financial Institutions, as well as other Local, State, and Federal Government or Military Facilities.

Training Opportunities Include; OSHA, Aerial Work Platforms, Glazier Apprenticeship and other industry related experiences.

Compensation Based on Experience and Performance.

As a Glass Installer, you will be traveling to different job sites, inspecting the area, and installing a variety of different glass products based on the client's needs, including residential windows, shower glass, and even mirrors. You will also be maintaining a safe, clean work environment, taking accurate measurements of the space, and answering client questions on-site. The ideal candidate works well in a team environment, has excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Install glass and storefront systems according to job instructions, blueprints and specifications

Accurately and safely install glass of many types, with strong attention to detail

Communicate professionally and effectively with the clients to keep them informed of their projects

Follow all safety guidelines to foster a safe work environment
