_GLEASON AUTOMATION SYSTEMS IS A DIVISION OF THE GLEASON WORKS _
The primary focus of this role is the development, design, writing, debugging and documentation of the PLC, HMI, Robot programming and implementation of other systems (i.e. Vision, Conveyor, Laser) for the Gleason Automation Systems automated manufacturing equipment and ancillary products from concept through full implementation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develops PLC, HMI, and Robot software/programming solutions using a combination of creativity and experience that meet or exceed customer expectations and complete technical requirements and machine operations
Perform Debug/Test/ Commissioning/ Runoff of manufactured equipment and implemented ancillary products
Work with other technical disciplines to specify, design, and implement features to support the design of automation equipment
Provide technical support for Test/Runoff, Customer, and Field Service
May take role as Lead Engineer on Projects and Customer Orders
Attend, participate, conduct design reviews for proposed designs
Utilize effective time management and prioritization skills to complete assigned tasks according to priority and due dates
Communicate effectively verbally, and in various electronic formats, project progress and technical information to various audiences
Perform other tasks and activities as needed
This position involves minimal travel, however, could involve travel to customers anywhere in the world.
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with emphasis on PLC, HMI, Robot programming and industrial automation equipment
5-7 years related experience
PLC Programming (i.e. Siemens S7), HMI Programming (i.e. Siemens), Robot Programming (i.e. Denso, Fanuc), Vision and Servo Drive Systems
Business Systems Software (i.e. ERP, MRP, PDM)
MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
MS Project or other Project Management Software
Intranet (Time and Attendance) and other basic computer skills
Extensive experience with PLC and HMI programming for Industrial Automation Equipment.
Experience with Information Systems as it applies to Industrial Automation Equipment and Factory Information systems (FIS).
Experience with automation equipment i.e. robotics, drives, transmission devices
Experience in Controls Design a plus.
Proficiency with networking communications (i.e. Ethernet, DeviceNet, ProfiNet, ProfiBus, Etc.)
Ability to work with other engineers and disciplines to relay technical information and effectively contribute in meetings/discussions/brainstorming sessions
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently
Must be able to work productively within a team environment
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to efficiently manage time and prioritize simultaneous tasks.
