    Applicant Attorney Workers' Compensation Law Firm, specializing in professional athletes/sports law, is looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and experience in the California Workers Compensation system.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum 3 years’ experience in Workers Compensation practice.

    Strong organization and communication skills.

    Ability to work independently and take initiative.

    Knowledgeable in EAMS; DOR process, Filing Applications, Amending Applications, etc.

    Experience with e-filing, discovery requests, responses from defense counsel, motions, calendaring, and deadlines.

    Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    Genuinely care about clients and deliver an excellent experience.

    Experience scheduling medical evaluations: Applicant Qualified Medical Evaluation (AQME), Primary Treating Physician (PTP), and Secondary Treating Physician (STP) appointments.

    Experience requesting Panel Qualified Medical Evaluations (PQMEs) and submitting strikes.

    Results oriented and enjoys working as a team.

    Responsibilities:

    Communicate with staff, clients, medical evaluator offices, and defense counsel.

    Schedule Depositions and AQME/PQME/PTP/STP medical evaluations - maintain schedule and deadlines.

    Send Notice of Appointments and prepare clients for medical evaluations.

    EAMS Filings: Applications, DORs, Liens, etc.

    Organize and maintain case files, ensuring correct naming conventions.

    Assist attorneys in managing case deadlines and provide deadline reminders.

    Perform administrative duties, proofreading, editing, and ensuring accuracy.

    Monitor and process caseload’s daily incoming mail.

    Serve discovery to defense counsel.

    Additional duties as assigned by attorneys, manager, and paralegals.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience with the Workers Compensation Appeals Board (“WCAB”) a plus.

    Familiarity with sports teams and professional athletes, and a general appreciation for professional sports is preferred.
