    SUMMARY

    The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for the comprehensive support of day-to-day operations of the human resources department at the Chicago site. The HR Generalist/Administrator works closely with all the departments to provide customer-focused, effective HR service to the site for the achievement of the organization’s goals and objectives.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Serve as point of contact for current and prospective employees and answers questions regarding HR and Company policies and procedures

    • Support site’s recruitment efforts including scheduling interviews, participating in interviews, sending offer letters, coordinating background checks and drug screens

    • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives

    • Responsible for preparing new hire packets, and new hire set up (access badge, name plate, business cards, computer set up etc.)

    • Serve as a liaison between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering policies, and helping resolve employee relations issues

    • Participate in the investigation and guidance for disciplinary actions

    • Provide guidance on HR operational issues and employment law based on corresponding local jurisdictions and laws

    • Support various HR initiatives, including training, performance management, performance reviews, and benefits administration

    • Prepare and reconcile monthly benefit bills for payment

    • Investigate and report on worker’s compensation incidents

    • Prepare full cycle bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely

    • Prepare, audit, and maintain new hire, termination, and employee change documentation

    • Conduct exit and stay interviews, analyze data for trends, and make recommendations for change

    • Assist with annual audits (provide necessary documentation and records)

    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory reporting requirements.

    • Provide regular HR related updates to site and corporate leadership

    • Implement employee engagement activities such as picnics, holiday parties etc. and continuously strive to improve and enhance the employee experience.

    • Implement, monitor, and contribute to HR projects when required.

    • Perform general office administration, including ordering office supplies, business cards, and name plates.

    • Undertake other duties or tasks that may be allocated as appropriate to the role.

    • Work under minimal supervision with latitude for discretion and independent judgement.

    • Must be a team player as measured by his/her peers

    REQUIRED

    • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in HR or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills

    • Proven ability to effectively multi-task

    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

    • Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills

    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

    • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with all levels of internal stakeholders.

    • Proficiency with Paylocity and/or other HRIS and talent management systems, or the ability to learn quickly

    • Good knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations

    • Sound knowledge of principles and procedures for recruitment, selection, training, compensation, and benefits reconciliation

    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

    DESIRED

    • 4-6 years of related experience to reflect skills and talents needed for this position, preferably in a manufacturing environment

    • Working knowledge of company ERP systems

    • Certification in human resources

    Salary info:

    $31.25 - $33.65 / hr
