    Job Description

    Owens-Illinois General, Inc. seeks in Perrysburg, Ohio, in a glass manufacturing plant, to provide technical assistance on a diverse range of parameters in the refiners, forehearths, and feeders.

    Responsibilities:

    • Make inspections of the refiners, forehearths, and feeders and the associated refractory equipment.
    • Work closely with Forming and Furnace department, recommending changes in operational setups.
    • Design work related to new working end layouts and equipment for major repairs and/or upgrades to licensee, Joint Venture, and O-I plants.
    • Mentor junior team members and plant personnel in glass conditioning and glass quality troubleshooting aspects related to the forehearth operations.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must have Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
    • 5 years of experience in a glass manufacturing plant. The 5 years of experience must include 5 years of experience with forehearth, glass forming, and furnace operations. All experience may be acquired concurrently.
    • Domestic travel up to 60% and international travel up to 10% required, to be reimbursed by employer.

    The expected salary for this position is $113,873.00 – $122,980.00 per year.
