JOB DESCRIPTION - HOSPITAL BILLING REPRESENTATIVE

Gaithersburg medical customer service call center is looking to add additional staff members to our growing team.

We are looking for full-time employees who are looking for a career.

THE JOB:

We work on behalf of hospital organizations around the county. Patients call us with questions or to make payments on their current medical bills. We are helping patients on behalf of hospitals who have billed the patient for any balances due from the patient. We help the patient:

1- Understand why they have the balance

2- Explain what their insurance paid and why. Update insurance information as needed.

3- Take payments

4- Set up payment arrangements

5- Understand financial assistance (charity) options that may be available to them

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (THESE WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT! BUT NOT ALL A REQUIREMENT)

• 2+ years Medical Billing or Medical Collections
• Experience using EMR hospital systems
• Understanding of EOBs and Insurance
• 2+ years Customer Service Experience
• Working knowledge of ICD and CPT
• HIPAA Compliance
• Strong Computer & Typing Skills
• Ability to multitask
• Punctual
• Professional speaking abilities and phone skills (and experience)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
