    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Software Engineering Internship will be responsible for assisting the Software Engineering Team with design, development, and testing of utilities for Medical Devices and Applications such as the ExcelsiusGPS Robotic surgical assist system at the Imaging, Navigation, and Robotics division of Globus Medical. Candidate should have software engineering fundamentals, some programming experience, and an interest in medical devices, and be fluent within MS Office, including Outlook.

    Duties will be consistent with all product development phases including idea/concept generation, design, prototyping, development testing, design verification and validation. This individual will work with the cross-functional engineering team to ensure high product quality and on-time market introductions. This team player should have experience with multi-tasking in a high energy, fast-paced environment. The Candidate is expected to work a 40 hour work-week; Monday – Friday, between the hours of 8 am – 6 pm (some flexibility).

     RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist to develop prototypes, proofs of concept software in addition to production-quality solutions
    • Support the development of software utilities and documentation
    • Document design work, test plans, and other documents per company SOPs
    • Contribute to testing, documentation, and design

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Experience in object-oriented analysis and design
    • Experience programming in Python, C++, shell scripts
    • Experience developing software tools, utilities, and libraries/components
    • Strong self-starting skills, interpersonal skills, and professionalism
    • Ability to work in fast- paced environment. Multi-tasking skills required for successful job completion
    • Well organized, detail oriented and team player capable of working in a deadline dictated environment
    • Ability to adequately represent and reflect company philosophy to customers, suppliers, and industry peers.  Comfortable with a corporate (business casual) environment
