     IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS & ENGAGEMENT

    The Social Media Specialist is responsible for managing the school’s social media presence and executing content strategies aimed to grow audience size and engagement across multiple social platforms. This position will create original copy and video content, maintain an ongoing content calendar for all social channels, and engage with followers in alignment with brand voice, aesthetic, and mission. The Social Media Manager will compile monthly analytical reports to help identify areas of growth and potential and will develop new content strategies in collaboration with the Director and other department members. Areas of core competencies include, but are not limited to, social media management and strategy, copywriting, SEO, analytics, branding, marketing, and communication. Required soft skills include, but are not limited to, reliability, clear communication, adaptability, time management, and collaborative.     Essential Functions, but not limited to the following:

    • Develop, implement, and manage Gnomon’s social media strategy in conjunction with leadership, including publishing relevant, original, and high-quality content for all social media channels and marketing ads
    • Create original text and video content, manage posts, and respond to followers in alignment with established brand voice, aesthetic, and company mission
    • Create content and assets for all digital channels, acting as primary photographer & videographer for on-campus events and activities, as needed.
    • Maintain an ongoing content calendar for all social channels, and collaborate with the creative team to identify strategy, approve copy, and secure assets in a timely and organized manner
    • Analyze effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media efforts, in collaboration with department leadership
    • Support the creative team in the coordination/creation of marketing content to use for social media purposes including videos, testimonials, artwork, alumni success stories, etc.
    • Liaison with company partners ArtStation, Gnomon Workshop, and others regarding shared promotional opportunities, blog posts, social media posts, articles, event banners, etc.
    • Ensure published channel assets and designs (eg. Timeline covers, thumbnails, and layouts) are refreshed regularly and meet with the creative team each quarter to reevaluate designs.
    • Maintain organization of social media assets on the Marketing and Design server. 
    • Assist with community-facing streamed events, including chat moderation, real-time community engagement on social channels, and tech testing and setup, as needed.
    • Research trends and shifts in SEO, social media, and marketing strategies to inform and educate the marketing team on important updates, changes, and opportunities.
    • Maintain job knowledge by attending workshops; reviewing professional publications; and/or participating in professional development.
    • Maintain a high level of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity. 
    • Conduct all activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards.
    • Adhere to all state, and federal accreditation and school rules and regulations regarding student recruitment.

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field required, or relevant experience
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in social media management or related field required
    • Knowledge of current social media and related platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Twitch, YouTube, etc.)
    • Photography, Videography skills required
    • Microsoft Office Suite knowledge required
    • Entertainment, gaming, or art background a plus
