    We are looking for a new team member to lead our internal finance operations.     The ultimate title for the position will depend on the capabilities of the individual and the balance of responsibilities between the individual selected and other roles at Goelzer.

    Job Summary: This role is responsible for providing accurate financial reporting, forecasts, and scenarios, along with overseeing other internal financial functions, to provide strategic guidance to the Leadership Team in managing the firm in accordance with financial metrics and best practices that help enable profitable growth.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Oversee all internal financial operations, including accounting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

    Monitor financial performance, and present accurate financial reports, KPIs, and other financial information to the Leadership Team.

    Oversee the budgeting process and prepare modeling, forecasting, and other financial analysis on potential business opportunities.

    Monitor and report to the Leadership Team on the firm’s assets under management and assets under advisement, reporting on net flows and other key indicators.

    Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and opportunities for improvement.

    Continuously improve financial processes and systems to ensure a well-controlled, yet flexible organization.

    Oversee the firm’s participation in and use of industry benchmark data and reports.

    Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the firm’s goals and objectives and coordinate with the COO and other Leadership Team members to make critical business decisions.

    Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

    Serve as a member of the firm’s Vendor Management Committee and manage the firm’s 401(k), external audit, Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP), and tax preparation vendors.

    Manage the financial aspects of the firm’s shareholder program.

    Coordinate with other Enterprise Services team members on the administration of the firm’s healthcare benefit-related vendors.

    Depending on the capabilities and interests of the individual: this position could also include additional higher-level human resources-related duties.

    Education & Work Experience / Knowledge:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    Five or more years as a mid/senior-level accounting or finance manager.

    Professional accounting certification, such as CMA or CPA.

    Working knowledge of GAAP and legal and other regulatory standards.

    Strong understanding of banking processes.

    Skills / Other Personal Attributes – Required:

    Prior experience in a Registered Investment Advisory firm specifically or the financial services industry generally.

    Ability to perform complex financial analysis.

    Passionate attention to detail and accuracy.

    Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

    Understanding of and respect for corporate structure.

    Proficiency with MS Office and expert-level capabilities in MS Excel.

    Demonstrate initiative, creativity, judgment, and poise.

    Dedication to professionalism and confidentiality.

    Skills / Other Personal Attributes – Preferred but not Required:

    Prior experience with Tamarac, RIA Analytics, Practifi, and Salesforce.

    Prior experience managing/administering a 401(k) and/or ESOP.

    Prior experience managing with or coordinating closely with Human Resources.
