    Job Description

    TITLE:           Quality Assurance Supervisor

    SAFETY DUTIES:        Wear proper personal protective equipment such as earplugs, gloves, safety eyeglasses, and a smock. Keep hands from moving parts. Use proper lifting techniques. Always keep the assigned area clean and orderly. Report any accidents, unsafe equipment, or area to the line leader or supervisor.

    GENERAL DUTIES:       Supervise the day-to-day operation of the Quality Inspection Department, review and approval of product releases, employee training, and testing support. Interaction with all areas of the organization will be inherent in this position.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES: EMPLOYEES will clock in and gather their supplies at the supply room when arriving at the facility. The employee will sanitize before gloving and after reporting to the work area. The employee will receive instructions from the QA Manager.

    JOB SPECIFICS: Responsible for directing and supervising a group of employees involved in inspection and quality control procedures with regard to purchased material, in-process material, and finished products to assure that quality control standards are achieved.

    ·         Plan and assign work to subordinates.

    ·         Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, and make suggestions with regard to procedures, standards, and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.

    ·         Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices.

    ·         Responsible for compilation and maintenance of inspection reports and records.

    ·         Investigate and determine the cause of faulty work and consult and advise production supervisors as to corrective measures.

    ·         Maintain discipline, morale, and harmonious relations among subordinates.

    ·         Investigate and adjust personnel problems within the area of responsibility. Effectively recommend hiring, promotions, wage adjustments, and terminations.

    Responsible for Safety Quality Food, SQF, HACCP, CCP task, sanitation, and all support programs implementation.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employee will stand/walk/sit 100% of the time. Moderate reaching, bending, and twisting. Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast pace environment at all times.

    ENVIRONMENT: Poultry processors work in cold, damp conditions (40° to 50° degrees) to prevent the meat from spoiling. Work area surfaces are wet and slippery 100% of the time. Because processors work with knives and sharp machinery, there is a risk of accidental injuries, ranging from minor cuts to finger or limb amputations.

     EDUCATION: Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience. Education equivalent to a complete accredited apprenticeship training. A minimum of 3-5 years experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment.
