Golden is looking for pragmatic, hungry and devastatingly curious hackers to join its mission in organizing the world's knowledge. The company is in relative stealth right now, backed by tier A investors and is led up by serial entrepreneur Jude Gomila (ex founder of Heyzap acquired for $45m 2016 / YC '09 and investor in 100+ startups). We are looking for a python focused, multi disciplinary backend generalist with a knack for picking up new technologies and programming languages. As an early team member you would be working in a startup environment with high autonomy and a rapid development pace. Among other areas, the work will touch upon general web app product building, scrapers, data structures, databases, schemas, apis and feature/product building. At the same time, work will also relate to the real world in making a product that people use and love. We are looking for special early engineers to join us.
We are looking for:
- A brilliant software engineer
- Multi-disciplinary generalist with a knack for picking up new technologies and languages
- Experience building complex web apps
- Python
- Full time in San Francisco
- Hard working and passionate about what they work on
- Preferred PhD, Masters or BS in CS/EE or a related discipline. We also consider exceptional applicants with other backgrounds (e.g., self-taught)
- Intellectual curiosity
- Interest in knowledge and the pursuit of knowledge
Bonus points:

- Database, complex data schema experience
- Having worked on projects at scale
- Dev ops experience (this is not a devops role, more sushi roll)
- Django experience
- React experience (though this is a backend role, still will come in handy)
