    The Staffing Specialist is responsible for providing support to the Senior Leadership Team by assisting with daily operations for the Des Moines location. This position advocates for the associate experience. This position also works on the process of setting appointments, meeting with new and existing employees, and overseeing the overall on boarding experience. This position assists new associates with the employment process and assesses candidate strengths and skills to facilitate a great match for the assignment and team.

    As a On Boarding Specialist you will be responsible for all recruitment activities and strategies, job postings, pre-screening and evaluating candidates, scheduling interviews, and general orientation activities for new hires. The Talent Acquisition Specialists play a critical role in hiring top talent for our agency.

    Preferred candidates will have 1-3 years of recruiting experience in the healthcare industry and must possess a high sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistent candidate contact during the recruitment life cycle.

    Primary Job Duties

    Collaborates with administrative supervisors and team leads to identify critical deficits in staffing and deploys available resources to areas of greatest need.

    Works with administrative supervisors or designee to identify staffing/scheduling needs and to cooperatively develop a plan to meet these needs.

    Maintains onboarding process for all new hires.

    Welcomes new hires during orientation and provides assistance throughout their first day to foster positive attitude toward company goals.

    Use job boards and other medias to find qualified aids and nurses.

    Able to Pull, review, and add background checks into new hire files.

    Verifies applicant’s credentials, references, etc. All QA (quality assurance) procedures relevant to our industry and hiring practices.

    Screen applicants, process applications, set up orientation.

    Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

    Assist to collect documentation for I-9 verification and run E-Verify for new hires.

    Utilize our proprietary computer system to complete and document all activities.

    Documentation of ALL activities related to staffing.

    Fill orders in a timely manner and help replace canceled shifts.

    Location: West Des Moines, Iowa

    Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (if needed)

    Part-Time Position – 3 to 4 hours a day / This position could turn into a full time position

    Hours: This individual must possess a flexible work schedule (anytime between 7am - 6pm). This position will be required to have flexible schedule hours that could increase or decrease depending on the need of the office.

    Compensation is commensurate with verified work experience. This position would include a base pay plus bonus pay configuration.

    Our staffing specialist are not order takers, you must be proactive and be comfortable calling people to find potential applicants for our field staff as well as fill open shifts.

    Job Requirements

    • Type minimum of 40 words a minute

    • Must be computer literate

    • Stellar written and verbal communication skills

    • Efficient under pressure

    • Healthcare experience or knowledge a plus

    • Associate degree a plus

    • Must have experience making outbound calls

    • Must be reliable

    • Must have reliable vehicle

    • Sales experience would be helpful in this role

    • Must be comfortable and pleasant on the phone

    • Staffing experience is ideal

    • Must be comfortable handling complex scheduling demands and managing multiple simultaneous client and field staff needs

    • Recruiting experience helpful

    • Must be reliable with a good work ethic

    • Must be attentive and approachable

    • Must be proactive, astute and quick thinking

    • Must be self-motivated and organized

    • Perform clerical duties

    • Maintain client confidentially

    • Demonstrate the ability to balance several tasks

    • Must be reliable and dedicated to ensure patients receive the care required

    As the On-Boarding Specialist you will report to Management and/or to the Leadership team to report on all of the above including but not limited to: client concerns, staff concerns, activities, goals, updates, problems, and any special projects given.

    This employee must have strong organizational skills, be proficient in spreadsheets and word processing, and be computer literate, as well as having the ability to communicate and problem-solve effectively. And finally, assist management as needed.
