    Job Position: Manager on Duty

    Reports To: General Manager

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    Summary: Oversees the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School. This encompasses all daily operations including staffing, pool operations, cash management, customer service, retail and vending department and workplace employee activities.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Directs and controls the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to Goldfish Swim School standard operating procedures.

    Helps the General Manger and department managers fulfill daily tasks.

    Manages the staff of GSS to ensure high productivity, excellent performance and positive employee satisfaction.

    Assists in the training and overseeing of the aquatic department to provide superior swim instruction to students of Goldfish Swim School. Interacts with the Deck Supervisors and Golden Teachers on issues related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance and training.

    Gains a high level of knowledge and experience in the Links software to achieve a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting and administrative functions.

    Establishes a relationship with all new employees.

    Troubleshoots all Links software account issues.

    Offers customer service follow-up to any upset members.

    Assists in maintaining the employee phone list.

    Helps with the subbing process to ensure appropriate staffing.

    Ensures the retail area is clean, professional, stocked, labeled and profitable.

    Ensures the vending area is clean, stocked, labeled and profitable.

    Ensures phone calls and emails are being responded to professionally and in a timely manner.

    Creates daily shift notes and sends them to the entire management staff.

    Fulfills other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager or Regional Manager

    Maintains current certification and stays up-to-date professionally on the aquatics and management field.

    Provides leadership, discipline, and constructive feedback to Deck Supervisors, Teachers, and Deck Teachers to ensure quality delivery of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

    Acts as substitute Deck Supervisor and instructor as necessary.

    Assist Management and Deck Supervisors staff in conducting monthly workshops and in-service training.

    Assists in all new hire training.

    Ensures the flow of the shifts, both on the dry and wet side of the facility, are running smoothly.

    Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two or more years previous customer service and/or administrative office experience required. Intermediate level computer skills required using Word, Excel and other software systems.

    Certificates and Licenses: Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
