    Job Title: Lifeguard

    Reports to: General Manager

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    Summary: Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of the Goldfish Swim School by preventing and responding to emergencies.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an accident or emergency.

    Both communicates and enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.

    Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services, when needed.

    Ensures that medical services (EMS or other) are contacted by most appropriate means when necessary to respond to an emergency.

    Will report accidents/incidents to management. Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.

    Aids in maintaining a clean and safe facility.

    Assists with closing procedures and securing the facility at the close of business.

    Fulfills other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.

    Education/Experience: High School Student with Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid Certifications. Experience as a certified lifeguard with at least 6 months of experience in an aquatic facility or camp, preferred.

    Certificates and Licenses: Must maintain a current Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications.

    Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
