Job Titles: General Manager / Assistant General Manager / Pool Operations Manager / Sales and Services Manager / Swim Instructor / Life Guard

Duties and Responsibilities of our Managers:

Directs and controls the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating procedures.

Manages the staff of GSS to ensure high productivity, excellent performance, and positive employee satisfaction.

Trains and oversees the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to the students of GSS. Interacts with Deck Supervisors and Golden Teachers on issues related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance and training.

Provides sales and marketing training to all qualified sales staff.

Provides direction in the retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing is achieved.

Trains and oversees private party staff to ensure that the GSS standard operating procedures are being maintained.

Gains knowledge and experience in our sales and finance software to achieve a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting and administrative functions.

Gains a high level of knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment.

Initiates and oversees workplace employee activities (“Fun” Department) with the goal of achieving improved employee satisfaction.

Directs and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures that pertain to the GSS facility and trains all current staff on the GSS EAP.

Maintains current certifications and stays up-to-date professionally on the aquatics and management field.

Fulfills other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.

SWIM INSTRUCTOR Requirements:

Ability to work with children

Must be 15 years old

Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills

Must pass background examinations (included with training)

Must be able to be in the water for a minimum of a three-hour shift in a warm and humid environment

Duties:

Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum

Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents

Evaluates student's progress, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner

Interacts professionally with parents/guardians after each swim lesson on the activities and development of students’ swim skills

Uses problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter

Assists with setting up the pool prior to lessons and cleaning up after lessons including proper storage of all pool equipment and lane lines

Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours

Education/Experience:

No experience is necessary. This is a great first job and part-time job for teenagers in high school and/or college students.

Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider a plus!

Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid certification will be required. For those not certified, Goldfish Swim School provides certifications courses in our facility which all employees are required to complete within 3 months of employment.

Each Goldfish Swim School is an independently owned and operated franchise. The respective Franchisee is the employer at each Goldfish Swim School location.
