    This role is a professional. The role will be mostly in a remote environment with occasional meetings in various locations in the State of Maryland. We are seeking a self-motivated individual, an independent thinker and highly energetic. This is a busy environment where client satisfaction is paramount. This is a senior-level position and candidates must have experience in managing projects and staff, be a savvy technology user, and a quick learner of trends.

    This project is with a large Nonprofit client with offices located in Severn and Annapolis, Maryland. We need a competent assistant controller to help oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of three departments (payroll, accounts payable, and budget management) for approximately 1700 individual clients. Job Duties:

    Lead implementation and ongoing support of FMS Engine

    Obtain understanding of FMS Engine software capabilities

    Lead FMS Team in creating processes & efficiencies within FMS Engine

    Train existing team and new hires in use of FMSE

    Coordinate with Outreach on stakeholder training in FMSE applications

    Manage transfer of data between FMSE and external payment software applications

    Manage communications with internal & external stakeholders

    Monitor ticket system for responses within contractual deadline

    Research and respond to stakeholder inquiries via telephone, email, ticket system or virtual meeting

    Communicate with processing teams to prioritize stakeholder inquiries

    Assist FMS Controller in implementation of new DDA contract requirements

    Implementation & ongoing support of EVV compliance process

    Support Payroll team with employee setup, employee changes and stakeholder access in electronic timekeeping

    Coordinate with Contract Administrator to ensure compliance and provide required reporting

    Assist FMS Controller and Processing Managers with personnel

    Interviewing & new hire selection

    New hire and ongoing staff training

    New hire software access

    Promotion recommendations

    Monitor program growth & Identify need for additional staff

    Preparation & monitoring of Performance Improvement Plans

    Replacement plans for resignation or termination

    Create & edit Standard Operating Procedures

    Create new SOP’s to align with FMS Engine processes

    Monitor expiration of SOP’s in PolicyStat

    Edit SOP’s as needed

    Assist Processing teams as needed

    Assist during peak times (payroll processing, FYE budgets, monthly mileage reimbursements, etc.)

    Ensure processing deadlines are met

    Acting Manager during Processing Manager absences

    Process weekly A/P payments and out-of-cycle payroll checks in Bill.com

    Process voids and reissue payments as needed

    Review/edit reports generated for submission to DDA

    Assist FMS Controller with other duties as needed

    Attend internal and external meetings as required

    Qualifications & Requirements:· Bachelor’s degree in accounting· Knowledge of US GAAP· Knowledge of Sage Intacct, Bill.com & Paycom desired· Knowledge of full-cycle accounting and payroll processing· 5-years’ experience in accounting environment· 3-years’ experience in supervisory or management role· Accurate and detail-oriented with good math skills· Superior organizations skills, ability to establish priorities, and ability to multitask under deadlines· Team player with excellent interpersonal skills; ability to motivate team members· Ability to exercise independent judgement and work with limited supervision· Tech savvy – expertise in a range of technology solutions· Highest standard of ethics and discretion; experience handling confidential informationThis position is eligible for performance-based bonuses.
