    MARINE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

    DEPARTMENT: Marine Sales

    REPORTS TO: Store Manager – Farmerville

    JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the selling of new and used boats, marine equipment and supplies to customers. The person in this position is responsible for ensuring that all sales targets meet and/or exceed the goals set for profitable growth and customer satisfaction. Develop and implement strategic marketing plans to increase the customer base in assigned territory. The person in this position must understand and work within the policies of Goldman Equipment, LLC being sure to maintain confidentiality, meeting deadlines, and enforcing the letter and spirit of company policies, procedures, and standards.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Assist store customers in choosing the boat and marine equipment that meets their needs and specifications.

    · Develop working relationships with repeat customer base.

    · Become an expert of the marine product lines carried at the Dealership.

    · Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to make “cold-calls”, follow-up calls, and closing deal calls.

    · Develop, with approval from your direct reporting Manager, promotional marketing strategies to broaden customer reach, pulling them to the Dealership.

    · Work within the department’s budget requirements.

    · Establish and follow procedural guidelines for trade-in’s, purchases, sales quotes and contracts, and down-payment deposits.

    · Participate in monthly safety meetings and safety training.

    NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · May arrange for delivery, registration and inspection of boats and trailers.

    · May demonstrate boat in water.

    · Other duties and projects as may be assigned or re-assigned from time to time.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     Education and/or Experience:

    · High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

    · Bachelor’s degree in business or closely related field with three (3) years of relevant boat sales and industry experience; or equivalent combined education and on the job experience, preferred.

    · Basic understanding of financial principles relative to the marine industry.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    · Working knowledge of standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and internet connections.

    · Strong written and verbal communications skills.

    · Highly skilled in the following Sales skills:

    o Follow-up and closing the Sale

    o Prospecting

    o Negotiation

    o Product Knowledge

    o Building strong customer relationships

    · Ability to deal with employees and public in a courteous, tactful, and patient manner.

    · Ability to understand and carry out upper management requests.

    · Basic Math skills required.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

    · Prompt and regular attendance

    · Valid driver’s license and good driving record

    · Must be highly motivated and a self-starter

    · Various boats and marine equipment

    · The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

    · The working environment while performing the duties of this job will require the employee to regularly work near moving mechanical parts. The employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (weather), extreme heat (weather) 50% of the time. The employee will work 45% of the time in the Shop area and will be exposed to both heat and cold as the open building has neither heating nor air conditioning. The employee will be exposed to vibrations on a regular basis.
